Fire in Limoilou: the proposed criminal thesis
A pregnant woman was transported to the hospital after a fire damaged her early in the night on Thursday, the nine-unit building in the Limoilou neighborhood she lives in Quebec City.
Two other people were assisted by paramedics dispatched to the scene.
The Quebec City Fire Protection Service reports that several calls were received shortly before 1:00 am at 911 for a fire at a three-story building located on Bruneau Street.
Upon arrival, firefighters noted that tenants had themselves evacuated the building. Debris outside the building was on fire.
Soon after, the fire spread to the roof and a second warning was sounded. About 35 firefighters intervened, including using aerial scales.
The fire was declared under control at 2:18.
A Capital Transportation Network (RTC) bus and Canadian Red Cross volunteers came to the site to shelter and assist the disaster victims.
