MOTORCYCLE SAFETY

With the start of construction holidays, motorists will be able to see more motorbikes on the roads.

The 2019 motorcycle awareness campaign of the Société de l ‘assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) reminds all road users to be vigilant.

For motorcyclists, they are advised to exercise caution and respect speed limits.

As for motorists, the SAAQ strongly suggests to pay more attention to motorcycles, one must look twice rather than one and anticipate their presence.

Concerning motorcycle fatigue, the SAAQ also offers to make sure you are fit if you are considering a long drive.

“Driving a motorcycle requires more physical effort and concentration than a car. If you are tired, you will be less vigilant. You have to be in good shape to get on the road by bike, “reads the SAAQ website.

The site also reminds that the most important thing when riding a motorcycle is to be seen. To do this, the SAAQ site offers several tips such as the possession of light-colored accessories, the addition of auxiliary lights on the vehicle and traffic in the third of the way.
