Telefilm Canada funds 12 French-language feature films
Films by Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette, Ricardo Trogi, Luc Picard, Sophie Dupuis, Sébastien Pilote and Louise Archambault are among the 12 French-language feature films to which Telefilm Canada has awarded funding, for a total of 16 $ millions.
Telefilm notes that half of these feature films are directed or scripted by women.
The other directors who obtained funding are Caroline Monnet, Raymond Saint-Jean, Julien Knafo, Miriam Bouchard, Pascal Plante and Ivan Grbovic.
Selected films include Ricardo Trogi’s “Guide to the Perfect Family,” based on a screenplay by Louis Morissette. The film will tell the story of a father and his 16-year-old teenager in the midst of an identity crisis.
Telefilm will also finance the adaptation of “Maria Chapdelaine” by Sébastien Pilote, and that of “The goddess of flies” by Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette.
