A testimony in favour of Johnny Depp called into question by an error of the photo
LONDON — the head of security Johnny Depp has admitted Thursday to have cheated and presented as one’s own a photo paid to the statement that he had in fact been provided by the lawyers of the star, during the trial for defamation in London’s tabloid The Sun.
The star of pirates of the Caribbean continued from last week the tabloid british The Sun and its publisher NGN to be presented as a proven fact in April 2018 that he was an abusive husband, he denies with force.
Since their divorce in 2017 after two years of marriage, stormy, Johnny Depp, 57 years of age, and the actress Amber Heard, 34 years, accusing each other of violence. After an eight-day hearing at the High Court in London, the witnesses have succeeded to assert that the couple was arguing constantly, after the extravagant celebrations doused in copious quantities of drugs.
The head of the security services of Johnny Depp, Sean Bett, tried Thursday to accredit the thesis according to which Mrs. Heard had staged and recorded their arguments to advance his own career at the expense of her ex-husband.
After a party held for his 30-year-old, the actress “had sought to compete with (Mr. Depp), and had struck him, causing him visible injuries,” said Sean Bett in a testimony paid to the procedure, presenting as evidence a photo of the actor sporting a hematoma red under the left eye.
But after a cross-examination Thursday, at the hearing, the head of the security services finally admitted that the picture he had presented to him had in fact been sent by one of the lawyers of Johnny Depp.
“You’re lying !”
Mr. Bett defended himself by explaining that he had not been able to find the photo that he had himself taken that night as he had in the meantime lost his phone, stating, however, have taken a photo “very similar” to his employer a year ago.
The defence has seized the opportunity to accuse the witnesses presented by the team of Johnny Depp of false witness. “You lie !”, was launched by the lawyer of the Sun, Sasha Wass, the chief of security. “You can treat me the liar 100 times, I do not lie. I tell you the truth,” said he in return.
The court was expected to hear today, via videoconference testimony from two former classmates of Johnny Depp and the French singer Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two children, and the american actress, Winona Ryder.
But the lawyers of the actor have finally decided not to testify, because of the delay that it takes for this trial originally expected to last three weeks.
These two ex-mates have always supported the”actor, Vanessa Paradis, describing in a testimony paid to the procedure as “a man and a father kind, attentive, generous and non-violent”.
Winona Ryder, who had maintained a relationship with Johnny Depp in the 1990s, was said “not to be able to get used to the idea of the accusation,” which focused on his former companion. “He has never been violent with me”, had she been certified.
