Citizens of Ukraine from November 25, 2018 10 January 2019 has carried out customs clearance of 24.6 thousand vehicles with foreign registration (the so-called “EuroBLECH”) for a total amount of 1.5 billion hryvnias
The total amount of revenues from customs clearance of cars on foreign registration amounted to 1 billion 566 million. Of these: 158, 2 million UAH – duty 495,5 million UAH VAT, UAH 738 million and excise taxes, estimated at 174.1 million UAH – funds that were voluntarily paid by the citizens in the state budget to be exempt from administrative liability for violation of customs regimes, the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
In addition, of the total number of decorated cars, more than 21 thousand vehicles were on the customs territory of Ukraine with violation of requirements of the Customs code of Ukraine. For them, the owners voluntarily paid 8,5 thousand hryvnia for each car.
Recall, November 8, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading the draft law No. 8487, which introduced a new formula for the taxation of previously imported cars with foreign registration. MPs also adopted the law No. 8488, which introduced the restriction for non-residents for the import of cars to Ukraine without cash collateral and increasing the penalties for violation of customs regulations. The new fines will take effect in 180 days from the date of entry of laws into force.
On 23 November President Petro Poroshenko has signed these documents.
According Gospitalniy service, November 25, 2018 to 2 January 2019 under the new preferential conditions, the Ukrainians scored 16,5 thousand foreign-registered vehicles that were imported to Ukraine from 1 January 2015 until entry into force of new rules of import of such cars.
