PARIS — The house of French luxury Hermès has introduced Sunday its men’s collection in an artistic performance, filmed in real time, giving the tone of the first “Fashion week” virtual Paris, which starts Monday.

“Camera up, camera B, ok. The team set, we are ready”: in the film, cameramen, devotion and fervour and technicians are as much the star as the models. One sees the designer of menswear at Hermès, Véronique Nichanian, adjust the jacket, sky-blue stripes of a supermodel, ask her to put a hand in the pocket.

The nonchalance and relaxation are the key words of this collection is dominated by jackets-shirts, pants to size slipped worn with sandals.

The performance, filmed by the theatre director Cyril Teste, is published on the website of the saddler leather goods manufacturer hermes.com.

In the background, we hear the designer application to make a big plan on “the play of stripes”, and then on a leather strap or a waist belt neon green that égaye a look color of stone.

Here a mannequin in the bridle of a lady, another a self-portrait at a time when it is called by the teams, a third listening to the music and you can hear what he has in his headphones.

“One thing that interested me particularly: enter in the eye of the creator and in the back of the stage to which the public parades has never actually access,” says Cyril Teste in a press release.

Because of the containment, the collection is reduced to 18 looks against a quarantine of passages for a fashion show in normal times.

“I like the change (…) I am always in search of renewal, and even if the change me panic as much as he stimulates me, I prefer this anxiety to the repetition. The unexpected is creative,” points out Véronique Nichanian.

The online mode starts on Monday in Paris, for the first time, with three days of haute couture followed the week of ready-to-wear for men.

The parades have been cancelled in the midst of the epidemic of the coronavirus, the houses will all present their collection with videos on their social networks and platforms dedicated.
