The opposition in Belarus has urged authorities to restrict the broadcast of Russian TV channels and replace them with projects of domestic production or to balance foreign programs from other countries. The party “Belarusian popular front” had published on its website a statement.

“We demand from Belarusian authorities to restrict the broadcast of Russian TV channels, inciting ethnic hatred and in fact, are the means of information warfare against our country… we Demand from Belarusian authorities the adoption of legislation in the Belarusian language. We remind you that from 1 January 2019 all Internet sites of state bodies, enterprises and organizations of Belarus should have the version and announce the intention to monitor closely the implementation of this legislation”, — stated in the message.

Recall that in mid-December, President Alexander Lukashenko accused Russia of trying to Annex Belarus. He said that Moscow is trying under the guise of “deep integration” to destroy his country and to include in structure of the Russian Federation. He agreed only on an equal partnership between the two countries, but he is preparing a “incorporation”.

Lukashenko also held a secret meeting to pressure Russia.
