Thursday, October 11, deputies of the Kiev city Council made the decision on renaming the streets of Yuvenaly Melnikov in the Shevchenko district in the street of Yuri Ilyenko. The renaming was voted 63 deputies, according to the website of the city Council.
The draft decision passed the stage of public discussion. Change the name of the street Melnikova was supported by 67% of voters (1490 people).
It is worth noting, the street that stretches from the street Sich Riflemen and Lukyanovskaya square to ulitsa Eleny Teligi, was called Juvenal Melnikova since 1923. Melnikov was one of the organizers of the first Marxist circles in Russia and Ukraine.
