In the Baltic sea off the coast of Poland 29-year-old Ukrainian sailor fell out of the commodity ship Situla.
The incident occurred when the vessel was in Gdynia and was not far from the centre of władysławowo, Pomeranian Voivodeship. The team learned about the loss only at about 22.00 on Thursday, 10 January, when the ship docked at the port, reports “Polish radio”.
Last night was launched search and rescue operation which involved the vessel Sea service search and rescue, helicopter, Water volunteer ambulance service and border guards.
The search lasted for five hours and was stopped around 7 a.m. on Friday, January 11. Naval service search and rescue said that the chances of finding a Ukrainian sailor alive is close to zero.
However later the search was resumed. The speaker in the Marine search and rescue Rafal Huck noted that from the sea the areas canvassing helicopter of the Navy, and the Bay is a rescue ship Kapitan Poinc. The search will continue until evening, when be accepted the next decisions.
Weather conditions in the Baltic sea favourable, but the water temperature is about 4 degrees Celsius. A person can survive in such conditions only a few hours.

Six Ukrainian sailors had been released from Nigerian captivity in may last year. They were held hostage in the Niger Delta. The ship with the sailors was captured by pirates in October 2017.
