Военный эксперт Игорь Романенко: Украина должна ввести военное положение и готовиться к войне с Россией

Armed provocation and attack in the sea of Azov forcing the Ukrainian authorities to impose martial law and start preparing for a full-scale war with the Russian Federation with attraction of the maximum of the support of Western partners. This is in exclusive comments the online edition of UA.News said the Lieutenant General, Deputy chief of the General staff of the Armed forces of Ukraine in 2006-2010 Igor Romanenko.

The expert noted that the crews of captured Ukrainian ships could open fire in response, although could not confirm this information.

The reason for the transfer of Ukrainian ships from Odessa to Mariupol, an analyst explained the creation of a naval base in the sea of Azov, which earlier in the city was forwarded to the “Donbass” and “Kremenets”. While the armed attack and capture by the Russians of Ukrainian ships, Igor Romanenko considers sufficient cause for the preparation of Ukraine for war with Russia.

“Kiev is trying to increase the grouping of the future naval base in Mariupol. If the first time you RAID our ships, the Russians became confused and Putin gave the nod to pass, then the second time it just did not work and was shown the maximum bitterness and negativity with the use of weapons, special forces, and attack to kill. Given the past, Ukraine needs not just to prepare armies and armaments, and preparations for full-scale war with Russia at all levels. Armed forces and security forces went on full alert, indicating the need for all government agencies to be prepared for war”

The expert recalled that in the military, fighting in various statutes and documents, the conduct of hostilities apply the concept of “prior training” and “immediate preparations” for military action. He also said that there is a separate provision “military threat”, which provides for preparations for war all without exception state, not only military structures.

“If the country is going to war and sees the enemy forces exceed its capacity, then the military must, as a minimum, be prepared prior to the war. Now it happens in APU declared full alert. This is a list of activities for which the army and other law enforcement agencies must undergo training to use the Armed forces for a certain time. The “military threat” is the same, but only for the entire state, not just the defence and security forces”

Igor Romanenko did not exclude that Russia can go on the offensive from different directions and considers that the APU must actively prepare to repel attacks, using all kinds of existing personnel.

“Russia can go in for a ground offensive on Mariupol, or to attack the city and coast from the area of the Azov sea, which was captured earlier. Potential attacks may occur in different directions. This is the difficulty when you are preparing to fight on all fronts, not having a great resource, it’s a hard situation, and now we are. How to get out of it? You need to prepare the reserves. Ukraine has grown to the point where she has not only the tactical, operational and strategic reserves. Therefore, we must prepare for war. If we defiantly do, Putin will realize that we are “grown-up” preparing to fight back, which they never saw in the Crimea, and which they felt in the Donbas, which brought in regular troops, when they saw that APU came to Donetsk and Luhansk and are ready to release them”

We will remind, in July of 2018 the Russian border boats began to detain merchant ships in the waters of the sea of Azov, which is followed in the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk, and in the opposite direction. President Petro Poroshenko did not rule out that Russia is trying to invade the sea of Azov exactly the same as the temporarily occupied the Crimea.

25 Nov two small armored artillery boat “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol”, as well as inshore tug “Yana Kapu” carried out a planned transition from the port of Odessa to Mariupol. On the Russian side was informed in advance, in accordance with international standards to ensure the safety of navigation.

However, near the Kerch Strait, the Russian boundary boat “don” deliberately rammed the Ukrainian tow. Then over the Ukrainian ships appeared combat helicopters of the Russian Federation, and the way the ships were put on a stranded tanker, completely blocking traffic through the Strait of Kerch.

Around 20.00, the Russian military opened fire and captured all three ships. The bombardment and the assault, was wounded and captured 6 of the Ukrainian military personnel.

In connection with the incident, the Armed forces of Ukraine and the entire composition of the naval forces are in full combat readiness. President Poroshenko called the Military Committee, which adopted the decision on the introduction of martial law for 60 days. The decree on introduction of martial law must approve the Verkhovna Rada.
