Peacekeepers in the Donbas: Walker had a conversation with Surkov

The special representative of the US state Department on Ukraine Kurt Volker discussed with Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov introduction of peacekeepers in Donbass. Responding to a question about whether the introduction of peacekeepers in Donbass, Walker noted that “very possibly”, said in an interview with Volker’s edition of “Real time”.

“Yes, very probably. In particular, I spoke with Mr Surkov on this subject in the last few weeks. I think this is the most practical way to facilitate the implementation of the Minsk agreements”

Walker noted that peacekeepers can provide security, create conditions for free movement and peace and then we can implement the Minsk agreement.

“We suggested it. Ukraine supports, “Norman four” supports — France, Germany. The EU, NATO, Canada, UK all of this support, and propose to introduce a peacekeeping mission with the UN support. Only Russia blocks”

Earlier, the government had estimated how much time will be spent on the reintegration of Donbass, with the participation of UN peacekeepers.
