Polish archaeologists found the bath of the Maya civilization in the ancient town of Nakum in Guatemala. The discovery of about 2.5 thousand years.

Archaeologists have found ruins in Nacome 5 years ago. First, the researchers believed that dealing with ancient burials. Only now they came to the conclusion that it was baths.
Bath consists of several parts. In particular, it found a tunnel with a slope, probably where the water flowed. On both sides of the tunnel there are stairs to enter the bath, and the bath itself is a rectangular room with rocks on the sides. Opposite the entrance, the archaeologists found a niche in the wall where presumably dissolved in fire.
“The Maya believed caves and places for sacred ablutions: they were born not only the gods, but the first people. They also considered the entrance to the underground world inhabited by gods and ancestors. The Maya linked the caves and baths with the harvest and life — giving water”, – told the doctor of the Institute of archaeology of Poland Yaroslav Zralko.
