On the Italian island of Sardinia collapsed part of the bridge over the river Santa Lucia. The reason was soil erosion due to powerful rainfall.
Writes ANSA, the collapse occurred on route 195, which connects the city of Cagliari and the municipality of Capoterra. Because of the rains the river overflowed and washed away the bridge construction. There were no casualties — a few hours before the accident, highway blocked.
Earlier, on 14 August in the Italian city of Genoa collapsed bridge Morandi, killing 43 people.
