Space telescope “Hubble” has made the most detailed photo of a close neighbor of the milky Way — the Galaxy of the Triangle, a spiral galaxy located at a distance of 3 million light years from Earth.
Photo posted on the website of the Observatory.
A new image was made up of 54 photos taken with the “Hubble”. It is possible to notice the Central region of the galaxy and the inner parts of the spiral arms, which contain from 10 to 150 million individual stars.
This galaxy is the third largest object of the Local group and the most distant that can be seen with the naked eye under favorable conditions, as a blurred object in the constellation of the Triangle. At the same time, it is the smallest spiral galaxy. Its diameter is only 60 thousand light years. For example, the Andromeda galaxy has a diameter of 200 thousand light years in the milky Way is 100 thousand.
Telescope “Hubble” was launched into orbit on 24 April 1990 by the crew of the ship of reusable use “Diskaveri” and since then transmitted to Earth millions of unique images.
In particular, in 2018, scientists using the Hubble telescope had the opportunity to observe the galaxy NGC 5033, its parameters similar to ours.
Also, was published the photo of the brightest comets of the year, also made a telescope.
