A line of budget smartphones from Xiaomi Redmi will now operate as an independent brand.
This was on last week declared CEO of Xiaomi Lei Jun, reports The Verge.
Brand Redmi will specialize in e-Commerce and cost-effectiveness. Xiaomi, in turn, will focus on middle and high-class and retail trade. Previous Redmi smartphones were very popular, particularly in India, but until now, Xiaomi has tried to highlight the brand itself.
The first smartphone of the line the role of the brand will be Redmi Note 7. The model will have the new logo on the back: “Redmi by Xiaomi”. The smartphone will be equipped with two rear cameras, a 48 MP and 5 MP. The model is also equipped with a 6.3-inch screen, battery capacity of 4000 mAh and a fingerprint scanner. The price will start from $ 150.
Xiaomi takes the 3rd place in the ranking of the most popular brands of smartphones in the Ukraine in 2018. Phones of the Chinese company chose to 13.7% of the buyers.
Earlier Xiaomi has introduced a new wireless headphones called Mi AirDots Youth Edition. The new product will compete with market leader Apple AirPods headphones.
