Quebec, the third safest city in the world
Quebec City ranks third among the safest cities in the world, according to a ranking of the CEOWORLD business magazine.
Quebec comes behind the Grand Champion for a third consecutive year, Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, and Doha in Qatar.
The world ranking, produced by the magazine for business executives, includes 334 cities. The result is based on the overall crime index of each city, any type of crime.
The capital city of Quebec arrives in cities such as Taipei (4th) in Taiwan, Munich (5th) in Germany, Dubai (6th), still in the United Arab Emirates, and Zurich (7th) in Switzerland.
You have to go to the 37th rank to see Ottawa appear as another Canadian city. Waterloo ranks 45th, followed by Victoria, 74th. Montreal is just behind at 79th.
Other Canadian cities included in the rankings are Calgary (89), Vancouver (116), Toronto (123), Kitchener (136), Nanaimo (156), Halifax (161), Edmonton (163) and Mississauga (166).
In our southern neighbors, Salt Lake City, Utah, appears first in 53rd place.
In contrast, the least secure cities are Caracas in Venezuela, Pietermaritzburg and Pretoria in South Africa, Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea and San Pedro Sula in Honduras.
The lineup also includes two other cities in South Africa, Johannesburg and Durban, and five Brazilian cities, including Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre.
