The identity of the body found at Montmorency Falls unveiled
The body found Tuesday at the bottom of Montmorency Falls is that of Anne Bourassa, 42, who had been missing since Saturday.
The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) unveiled its identity on Wednesday.
Ms. Bourassa was last seen on Friday around 11 pm One of his relatives alerted the emergency services around 4:30 Saturday morning, after finding his belongings on the bridge above the Montmorency Falls Park.
The 42-year-old woman, a Beauport resident, reportedly went to the fall park at night.
The police had reason to believe that she might have fallen off the bridge. The hypothesis of a voluntary gesture is not confirmed.
On Friday, research on the periphery of the bridge had been conducted by a SPVQ dog handler, then the nautical squad of the Fire Protection Service of Quebec searched the basin at the foot of the falls, without success. The firefighters of Boischatel also lent a hand.
