The state budget of Ukraine for 2018 has received about 300 million hryvnia as a result of the privatization, which is 1.4% of the planned target.
In particular, last year was not sold a single lot of so-called “large” privatization and income was realized through the sale of small state and municipal enterprises through a system of “Prozorro.Sale”, the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
The funds that the state received less from privatisation, had to compensate by borrowing.
“As a result of extremely low privatization proceeds in the amount of 0.3 billion UAH, the government in December adopted a decision on the replacement of an additional amount of internal borrowing. The targets of government borrowing to the General Fund budget during the year was increased from 215 billion to 289 billion UAH”, — stated in the message.
Overall, for the 2018 year, Ukraine borrowed additional 277 billion, of which 103 billion hryvnia (equivalent) that are external borrowings.
Recall that in may Cabinet Committee on economic policy approved the list of enterprises large-scale privatization in 2018, which included Centrenergo and Odesa portside plant. The head of the Fund Vitaly Trebarov announced that the Fund agreed on 22 decisions on privatization of large objects. However, on 11 December, the privatization of Centrenergo was postponed.
The Minister of Finance Oksana Markarova said that in 2019, the state budget needs to grow to 17 billion hryvnia from privatization.
