The sun blew us magnetic mines in Vietnam

Солнце подорвало американские магнитные мины во Вьетнаме

During the Vietnam war as a result of powerful solar storms exploded to 50 sea mines, which are set at sea with the U.S. Navy. This is evidenced by the results of a study conducted by the American geophysical Union through the decades after the war.

As reported by Gizmodo, a newly declassified military documents of the USA says that the us military placed naval mines off the coast of Vietnam in the framework of the operation “Pocket money” in August 1972. Subsequently, the crews of several planes saw dozens of mines, however, no movement of ships or submarines in the area were recorded. As confirmed 46 years later, scientists from the American geophysical Union, the magnetic detonator mines are activated through a powerful storm on the Sun.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainians should prepare for a long magnetic storm in November.
