Everyone has their little preference to Hogwarts, we’ll say that.
Everyone loves Harry Potter, and the directors of the eight films may still be of advantage that the other… You wonder what is their favorite scene ? It has been found, and this is not always what we think : there are those who like when it is sad, those who prefer banging bars and those who loved the film pure magic (if you also your eyes shine in front of the treats that appear on the large tables of Hogwarts #lifegoal). When thou hast seen the films for the 34th time since their exit, you’ll have a little thought for the directors at the time of their favorite scenes !
1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s stone
The favorite scene of Chris Columbus is that of the entry of the students in the great hall of Hogwarts : “Our team of special effects had painstakingly tied hundreds of candles from the ceiling. The first time we filmed, the children walked in the plan tightened under the camera. We wanted to start over, and the candles began to fall. We had a single plane of the scene. When we saw the result… and everyone had chills. I had tears in my eyes. The crew applauded. We had recreated the magic without CGI.“
2. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
The time favorite of the filmmaker is the one where the famous house is unveiled. “It was a set built by Stuart Craig [designer]. I was blown away by his depth, again, without use of any special effects. It was amazing. See this scene projected on the big screen for the first time has left us with bated breath.” says Chris Columbus.
3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Favorite scene of the movie is the one where Harry, Ron, and Hermione discovers the treatise of Pettigrow and the innocence of Sirius. “I remember being filmed with tenderness the scene of the Hut Screaming because I was at the peak of my joy at the idea of working with Daniel, Rupert and Emma, but also Gary Oldman and David Thewlis and Timothy Spall, and Alan Rickman. All gathered together in this scene is sensational with so much conviction.” says Alfonso Cuarón
4. Harry Potter and the goblet of Fire
The producer talks about his favorite scene : during the tournament, and that the wizards will compete in the water. “Filming in a real lake would have been too impractical and would have frozen the actors. Therefore, we used a process called ‘dry for wet,’ which is to suspend an actor and blow wind on them to give the illusion that they are under water, but the hair did not move in a very compelling way.” says David Heyman.
5. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The favorite scene of David Yates ? “I wanted to bring the films in the real world, and an underground passage is very scary at night -the perfect place to get a Détraqueur.“
6. Harry Potter and the half-Blood Prince
“There is always something moving and touching to see students and their teachers face in the darkness, together.” tells David Yates about his favorite scene from the sixth Harry Potter, not one of the most joyful.
7. Harry Potter and the Deathly hallows – 1
This time when the members of the Order of the Phoenix take on all the appearance of Harry’s enjoyable for a lot of fans… “This happens at the beginning of the movie when all the world takes Polynectar to become Harry and become decoys designed to deceive Voldemort and his Mangemorts. We filmed several versions of Dan [Radcliffe] interpreting different characters. It was pretty funny.” said David Yates. A memory is more pleasant than the previous one !
8. Harry Potter and the Deathly hallows – 2
“This is the moment where they say goodbye to the extraordinary adventures they have had and to their children, “reports David Yates about his favorite scene of the last movie ofHarry Potter. And yes, this is the sequence where Harry, Ron, and Hermione are on the bridge. And you, what is your favorite scene, all the episodes combined ?
